Date Night Presents: Book-Vase Bouquet - Date Night Presents: Book-Vase Bouquet ‘Date Night’ is a series of weekly couple themed events for the month of May, to promote unique experiences and conversation between couples. Organized by the Kingston Parks & Recreation department, each week is an individual program designed to promote collaboration and coordination between couples, to deepen bonds and create fun memories. With a focus on affordability and participation, participation in the programs is not limited to only couples, with any relationship of adult partners welcome to participate, from best friends to newlyweds to senior couples. For the first week of Date Night, the Kingston Parks & Recreation Department is presenting “Book-Vase Bouquet Craft”. This event is a simple craft for all skill levels, where couples will be tasked with creating a simple bouquet to house fake flowers, out of an upcycled book. The bouquet is designed to be a gift to your partner, so choose a book color and flowers that they will enjoy. Each individual will be provided a single Hardcover book to use for the vase, but will have access to the full array of flowers to design the bouquet, keeping the amounts per bouquet within reason. Both the book and the flowers will be provided in an array of options. If you wish to provide your own specific flowers or book to utilize for the craft, you are more than welcome to!If you wish to create multiple bouquets, then please bring your own hard cover to convert into a book-vase! As well, while we may have a surplus of flowers, flowers will be distributed for everyone to participate in their first bouquet. If you wish to create multiple, you are welcome to the surplus of supplies.(Be warned, turning a book into a book-vase does involve cutting up the pages, and the book will be largely unreadable, so we recommend choosing something you have no intention of reading again.)
