Date Night Presents: The Amazing Date! - Date Night Presents: The Amazing Date! ‘Date Night’ is a series of weekly couple themed events for the month of May, to promote unique experiences and conversation between couples. Organized by the Kingston Parks & Recreation department, each week is an individual program designed to promote collaboration and coordination between couples, to deepen bonds and create fun memories. With a focus on affordability and participation, participation in the programs is not limited to only couples, with any relationship of adult partners welcome to participate, from best friends to newlyweds to senior couples. For the Third week of Date Night, the Kingston Parks & Recreation Department is presenting “The Amazing Date!” Inspired by the hit TV show “The Amazing Race”, this week’s event will challenge participants to compete in various competitive challenges, ranging from trivia about your partner to mind reading. The night will include 4 unique challenges, where you will complete the objective of each task as fast as possible. There won’t be any challenges based solely on physical ability, instead testing your relationships, bonds, and trust. While we will keep the full list of games hidden, we can reveal that one game we will be playing is “The Wedding Shoe Game”. Popular on social media, couples will be placed back-to-back, unable to see one another or their answers, and asked a trivia question about their relationship. Participants will then hold up a sign sharing which of them is a better answer to the question. An example question may be, “Who is the better cook?” To answer, players will hold up the shoe, or in our game’s version a sign, saying if they are answering ‘Me’ or ‘Them’. To win the game, the participants must get three matching answers consecutively. On paper, this date night will pit participants against other couples in a cut throat competition. Yet, remember the true goal is to enjoy a night together with your partner, try something new together, and deepen your bonds over a fond memory. While the glory and bragging rights are an attractive bonus, we want everyone to have fun together and enjoy a nice night away from the usual stresses of the world. While we don’t have any cash prize or vacations available for winning, we will be rewarding our winner with credit for K-rec programs in the future!

Date Night Presents: Custom Couple Clothing Craft! - Date Night Presents: Custom Couple Clothing Craft! For the fourth and final week of Date Night, the Kingston Parks & Recreation Department is presenting “Custom Couple Clothing’s Craft.” For this week, couples will have the opportunity to create a custom piece of clothing or accessory for their partner, in a variety of craft options. Options include tie-dye, bleaching custom designs, and more! Participants will have the option to utilize any method that is more comfortable with them to create a craft time for their partner. Or, should time and materials allow, create multiple items to give to your partner. We will have shirts and hats available for couples to utilize in their customization, only one of each per person, but couples are also welcome to bring in their own items to use for the program. If you have a spare white shirt or black pants you would love to spice up, or pick up something simple from TJ Max, then by all means please feel free to customize it however you want! The goal of tonight is to show how well you know your partner by trying something new. Whether it becomes a closet staple, or a sleeping only shirt worn with sweatpants, the goal isn’t perfection, but to create something unique, and give a DIY gift to the special person in your life. All skill and creative levels are welcome to this activity. You don’t need to be an expert in graphic design or clothing to participate, just an open mind to try something new.

Between the Trees Meditation Hike or Wildfire Mini Retreat Workshop - Sign Up for One or Both - Between the Trees Walk and Mini-Retreat Between the Trees
Saturday, June 13, 2026
10:30AM - 12:00PM
As part of our Wildfire Wellness Weekend, you are invited to join a guided mindfulness hike. Participants can join both the Saturday hike and Sunday mini-retreat and enjoy a discounted price, or just select one event.Between the Trees: A Nature Walk for Slowing Down & Noticing Let's put down the phones and step away from the noise for a short nature walk (location TBD). The group will meet in the parking lot and walk for a gentle hike. Please note that the trail includes natural terrain and mild tripping hazards, so sturdy hiking boots or sneakers with good grip are recommended. This walk will blend mindfulness, reflection, and quiet observation as we move slowly through nature together. Along the way, participants will be invited to notice, listen, and reflect as we spend time outdoors together. At the end, we will gather on the grass (wear something comfortable and suitable!) for a short reflective connection time before heading out.Wildfire Workshops: Mini-Retreat
Sunday, June 14, 2026
10:00AM - 1:30PM
A half-day retreat that is part of the Wildfire Wellness Weekend where participants are invited to attend a mindfulness hike on Saturday and/or the retreat on Sunday. For Sunday’s retreat, you’ll enjoy guided meditation, journaling, and intentional practices, you’ll have space to release what is no longer serving you and begin envisioning what comes next - with more clarity, ease, and alignment. Along the way, you’ll be guided through gentle movement, reflective prompts, guided visualization meditations, affirmation practices, intuitive card pulls, and small, sensory moments of care - like self-massage and quiet time in nature - designed to help you soften, reset, and reconnect. We’ll close with a nourishing lunch and space to linger, integrate, and carry a little more intention (and a little more lightness) into whatever comes next. You’re encouraged to bring a yoga mat, a pillow or two, and a blanket or two to make your space feel cozy. A catered lunch, journal, and eye mask will be provided.
