Interpretive Walks at Blackwater Memorial Forest
This program is unavailable.
Blackwater Memorial Forest, the Town’s newest conservation property, has been closed to public access during the construction phase of an ecological restoration project. The project is now complete, and the Conservation Agent would love to walk you through the site, pointing out what was done, why, and what to keep an eye out for over time. Expect roughly 45 minutes on a flat, wide, stone dust path, dress for the weather and keep an eye out for mosquitoes and ticks. Each time slot will be limited to ten vehicles due to parking limitations, so carpool if possible. Will open more times if there’s interest.
Children are welcome but must be accompanied by a registered adult.
Location: Blackwater Memorial Forest (Waze/Google are not accurate, you must access from Winthrop Street, between # 25 and # 27). There’s a gravel parking area with a separate entrance and exit.
