Bendeshe's Village Turkey Bowl Youth Flag Football Fundraiser • Register • View Cart •

Bendeshe's Village is a non-profit founded by a group of Kingston youth, and 17 year old Kingston resident Bendeshe Eyasu Bonner, also a summer recreation staff member. 

This is the third annual flag football tournament to support Bendeshe's Village. In the tradition of football and Thanksgiving, the event will be held the Friday after Thanksgiving, Friday November 29, 2024. We invite children in Grades 1-8 to participate, to enjoy the fun and laughter of this event. Teams will be created by our volunteers with teams divided by age (grades 1-4 and grades 5-8). Fee includes a Bendeshe's Village Winter Hat.

Bendeshe's Village

Here is a brief excerpt from their website:
I am Bendeshe Eyasu Bonner, and I am 17 years old. I was born in Ethiopia and adopted when I was 11 months old.  I now live in a village, Kingston,  where we all have clean water, healthy food, great schools, and health care.  My family in Ethiopia lives in a village called Wondo Genet.  My friends and I want to help the people in their village build a local water source and provide school scholarships and other projects to improve their quality of life.  We hope you will join Bendeshe's Village so that together we can make a real difference. 

This non-profit, is continuing to raise  money for a new school and well water system in Wondo Genet, Ethiopia. To date, we have built a small school and furnished the school with desks and supplies for all of the students. We have provided uniforms for 600 kids and paid for their tuition. We also started a food pantry, a raised garden project and built a shower with bathrooms on the school grounds. Our current goals are to build another classroom so that we can fit all of the kids and give them each their own desk, continue to pay for tuition on an annual basis, build a play area and a soccer field, and maybe even bring basketball to the village!

Fee is $30 when you register.  You can also make a separate donation if you would like ~ to support Bendeshe's Village.
